Pupils at Rugby's Lawrence Sheriff School got stuck into tax and budgeting during financial lessons sponsored by Hinckley & Rugby Building Society.

Financial education experts from the not-for-profit WizeUp were at the school working with Year 8 on their Business Day. Hinckley & Rugby Building Society regularly sponsors WizeUp’s visits to schools and colleges in its heartlands.

The whole year group of 120 pupils aged 12 and 13 explored the history of money and the skills and knowledge they will need in life and work to manage finances.

WizeUp’s Ed Flack said: “We were delighted to be invited back to Lawrence Sheriff. We thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and, if the number of questions is anything to go by, the students enjoyed taking part as well. They were enthusiastic, imaginative and knowledgeable.
