TWO decades of pantomime fun will be chalked up later this month when the curtain is lifted on the Dunchurch Pantomaniacs' latest production.

Puss In Boots will mark the 20th year running that the group has presented a show.

It opens in the village at the Rugby Road Sportsfield, on January 23 and runs every evening until January 31 with a matinee on Saturday, January 24 at 2.30pm.

A number of the original team are still involved in the theatrical group, but each year they are joined by newcomers. Several generations of children have had their first experience of theatre, dance, panto and singing with the Pantomaniacs.

Some have also returned to the cast after college or university to take leading parts in the show, having received theatre training during their studies.

Puss In Boots will be directed by Paul Smith for the second year, and is very much a family show, complete with the traditional dame and her family, an array of courtiers and, of course, a beautiful princess.

Children in the audience will enjoy being frightened by The Great Evil Ogre and they will fall in love with the Pantomime Donkey.

Tickets for the show are available from Wanda Fashions, The Square, Dunchurch (tel. 01788 522021). Prices are: Adults - £7, Children under 16 - £4 and Seniors £6.
