A FLAVOUR of Colombia can be sampled at an exhibition in Rugby showcasing work by six photographers from the South American country.

The exhibition, called Once More, With Feeling, runs at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum until Sunday, March 8.

The display showcases artists who have made their work in Colombia - a country that has been blighted by violent conflicts and struggles for power.

Many of the works deal with this history, while others explore more unexpected aspects of Colombian culture such as humour, youth, fashion and playfulness.

The artists on show include Milena Bonilla, Juan Manuel Echavarria, Juan Pablo Echeverri, Maria Elvira Escallon, Oscar Munoz and Maria Isabel Rueda.

The phrase 'once more, with feeling' connects the six artists' approaches to their work which explore the themes of repetition, memory and performance.

Councillor Neil Campbell, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for Culture, said: "This should be an exciting exhibition providing an insight into a different culture.

"The artists deal with a wide range of issues and their works are likely to arouse people's curiosity whatever their interests."

Admission to the exhibition is free. For further information contact Rugby Art Gallery and Museum on (01788) 533201 or visit www.ragm.org.uk/exhibitions.
