THE truth could be out there according to a Rugby couple who claim that they saw a UFO flying over the town last week.

Tod Dytham and Val Brown, of Caldecott Street, say they witnessed a large orange and yellow ball fly across the night sky at around 8.30pm on Wednesday.

Now the couple are interested to hear whether anybody else spotted the object which they a
damantly claim could not have been an aircraft.
Mr. Dytham said: "I had just popped out into the garden to have a smoke when I looked up and there it was.

"It was quite low in the sky and it glowed and sparkled with a corona around its edges - a bit like a mini version of the sun.

"I was completed mesmerised by it. It couldn't have been a plane because it was completely silent and had no flashing lights."

Mr. Dytham then called for Mrs. Brown to come and have a look at the object which was travelling north towards the railway station and Brownsover area.

She added: "My first reaction was 'oh my goodness what's that?' It was travelling far too slowly to be a plane but going in a straight line.

"I wasn't frightened more intrigued. When I told my friends about they it said what were you drinking that night - but I know what I saw."There must have been other people about at that time of night walking into town or in cars who saw this amazing sight."

Last September the Advertiser reported that strange lights had been seen in the skies over Brownsover but a local family later explained
that they had released giant Chinese lanterns into the air.

Mr. Dytham added: "I don't know about that - it was travelling too straight to be a lantern and it wasn't a windy night."
