MANY people have come forward to give information which might help police find the killer of Kevin Wright.

Police said that eye witnesses have spoken to them, including the driver of a 4x4 vehicle - who officers appealed on our website to come forward.

But they still need to speak to the taxi drivers near the scene.

Mr. Wright, 20, was stabbed to death in Church Street at about 2.45am on Monday, May 5.

DI Pete Hill, officer in charge of the investigation said: "I would like to thank the public for their help so far.

"Many people who were in the area at the time of the incident have contacted us, including the driver of the four by four vehicle that was parked near to the scene.

"We still need to talk to the two taxi drivers parked nearby and also anyone who used a taxi between 2 am and 3 am that was parked in Regent St, Church St and Albert Street.

"Both the taxi drivers and any customers may have information to help with our investigation and we would appreciate them contacting us on the incident hotline - 01926 415759."

Detectives would also like to hear from anyone who may have mobile phone images taken in the area around the time of the incident - approximately 2.43 am. Anyone with images should please contact the incident room hotline on 01926 415759

The 28 year old man who was arrested on May 6 on suspicion of the murder of Mr Wright, remains in police custody in Rugby after police were granted a further 36 hours detention by Nuneaton Magistrates yesterday (Thursday).
