RESIDENTS in two pubs woke up to masked raiders threatening them with weapons.

In both raids, the offenders left with nothing.

In the first incident, people inside the Bull's Head pub in Wolvey heard burglars breaking in about 3.10am on Thursday (August 14).

They left after the alarm was activated.

Just under an hour later, two offenders broke into the Balcksmiths Arms in Ryton.

One of the residents was threatened with a brick and the other burglars waere carrying a pool cue and crowbar.

Both offenders were wearing balaclavas and were dressed in black with hooded tops.

After unsuccessfully attempting to break into the safe, they left walking towards the A45.

PC Stephen Mobbs from Rugby is investigating these incidents and asks that anyone who saw the offenders entering or leaving either of the public houses or who saw two people walking away from the direction of the Blacksmiths Arms in Ryton, to please call him on 01789 541111 ext 3721, voicemail 11573.

Information to help PC Mobbs with his investigations can also be passed on to police anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
