THE number of confirmed cases of swine flu at Bilton Grange School near Rugby has risen to 18.

Last night the school announced that four more pupils had contracted the virus.

The school, which had planned to re-open tomorrow (Friday), will now re-open on Monday.

Peter Kirk, the school's Headmaster, said: "I am very sorry for the additional inconvenience that this decision will cause, and I am mindful that parents have not found it easy to find childcare.

"However, we must be as certain as we can that normal school business can continue from the date of re-opening without further disruption.

"I would also like to offer my thanks once again, for all the support we have received and the continued commitment and support from our staff.

"I very much look forward to having the school community back together on Monday, when we will be very keen to have a really good last two weeks of term."
