Two beaten in another street robbery

TWO young men were attacked in another street robbery in Rugby.


This is the latest violent attack - one of which led to the murder of Paul Smith.

On Saturday at 3am, two men were escorting a woman home when four hooded men punched and kicked them in Campbell Street.

After the atackers ran off towards Jubilee Street park, one of the vitims realised his wallet was missing.

The female was not injured in the assault.

Both men were taken to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwick for treatment for their injuries.

One of the attackers was described as black and his three accomplices were white.

Anyone who was in the locality of Campbell Street, Rugby in the early hours of Saturday morning, and who witnessed the assault or saw anyting suspicious is asked to contact PC Sabby Dhesi at Rugby Police Station on 01788 541111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
