Weekend round-up
Warwickshire Division 3
Barby v Bulkington
Barby 189-5 (24 points)
Bulkington 53 all out (2 points)
sponsored by Janus Lean Leadership
Barby travelled to Bulkington looking to cement their place at the top of the league and returned with the max
imum 24 points.
After being put in by the hosts Barby got a solid start from Chris Fortnum with 29 and Rob Field 31 between them putting on 64 for the opening stand. Both fell in quick succesion but the next batsmen carried on the momentum with firstly Tom Gleghorn 26 then Joel Gleghorn who made a dashing 45 not out and Craig Lester with 24 not out took the visitors to 189-5 in their allotted 44 overs. Cecil Sear was the most succesful Bulkington bowler taking 2-53.
Bulkington needed to get off to a good start but were always in trouble against the Barby attack of Dave Watson who took 2-13, Dave Norton 3-15 and a fiery Tom Middleton with 4-12. The home side capitulated to a meagre 53 all out with only Chris Noon 11 making double figures. A fine team performance to keep Barby at the top of division 3.

Warwickshire Division 4 reserves
Bulkington 2nd XI v Barby 2nd XI
Bulkington 2nd XI 111 all out (0 points)
Barby 2nd XI 112-2 (20 points)
sponsored by Aluminium Roofline Products
Barby 2nds completed the double over Bulkington at the weekend with an equally convincing 8 wicket victory. Led in the absence of normal skipper Nigel Hancock by Lyndon Slassor he won the toss and put the visitors in. Chris Taylor made a good start going on to make 36 but like the first team Barby`s bowlers were always on top and led by David Knightsbridge with 2-20 and Bikream Singh 2-31 reduced Bulkington 2`s to 111 all out. John Berrill the veteran visitors wicket-keeper made a stoic 41 and there cause aws not helped by 3 run-outs.
Barby`s steady opening partnership of Rob Stipanovic and Chris Watts knew they had 60 overs to get the 112 required and batted accordingly with Stipanovic making 29 and Watts a 101ball 34 not out. Matt Glenn came in at number 4 and hit a beligerant 24 to see the hosts home with plenty of wickets and overs to spare. This also keeps Barby`s second string close to the top of their league.
