Warwickshire League games and Sunday friendly v Barby
Warwickshire League 4 - Hunningham 1st XI vs Oakfield 1st XI

Oakfield made the short trip to Hunningham on Saturday looking for their 4th consecutive victory. Having won the toss, Oakfield elected to field. After a steady start from Hunningham, Ch
ris Smith made the first breakthrough via a well taken slip catch by Criag Gowdy. With Dave Odwell bowling economically with little luck at the other end, Smith picked up the first 4 wickets to fall, before Kieron Barnes chipped in with a run out to remove Hunningham's 5th batsmen. Smith (5-36) and Odwell (0-30) once again bowled well through the first 30 overs to reduce the hosts to 73-7. Hunningham's hopes of rebuilding their innings when the change bowlers came on were short-lived as Pete Brough soon picked up the 7th wicket. Brough (3-20 from 4.4 overs) and Kieron Barnes (1-6 from 5 overs) soon cleaned up the tail as Hunningham were dismissed for 105 on 39.4 overs.
Following a rain break, Oakfield had 52 overs to reach their target. With the indifferent forecast, Oakfield batted positively from the start, which resulted in early wickets falling as they reached 32-3 from 7 overs. Captain Dickie Burnett (30) and Craig Gowdy added 50 for the 4th wicket to swing things in Oakfield's favour before Burnett was caught. Gowdy went on to reach 53 not out, with a huge 6 winning the game as Oakfield cruised home for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.

Oakfield 2nd XI vs Hunningham 2nd XI
Top-of-the-table Oakfield took on 2nd placed Hunningham at the Sheaf in a crucial match. With several regulars missing, Oakfield fielded first and did well to restrict Hunningham to 171-8 from 50 overs. Jim Foxton, Duane Barnes, Maciek Hulme and Dave Hope all picked up a wicket apiece, with skipper Matt Jones taking 3-27 in a rare spell with the ball.
However, Oakfield's batting did not fare as well, with only Gareth Hill (29) making a decent score. The innings finished 87 all out as Hunningham won by 84 runs to swap positions with Oakfield.

Sunday Friendly - Oakfield vs Barby
Oakfield entertained local rivals Barby in a friendly on Sunday. Having won the toss, skipper Rob Harris decided to bat. Harris (40) and Gareth Hill (21) both got starts before being dismissed. Pete Brough (31) and Adam Stradling (21) also batted well as Oakfield reached 168 all out from 40 overs.
In response, Dickie Burnett (3-10) picked up a wicket with the first ball of the innnings, and was well supported by Steve Maddison (2-21). Barby's struggles continued as spinners Paul Cunningham (3-18) and Adam Stradling
(1-12) picked up further wickets. Wills McGregor them removed the last batsmen as barby were bowled out for 96 to give Oakfield victory by 72 runs.

Next week sees Oakfield's 1st and 2nd XI's take on Erdington Court in the league, with both teams looking to consolodate 2nd place, and potentially move top. The 3rd XI take on high-flying Star Coventry, while the Sunday team travel to old rivals Rowlands.
