CRICKET: Powell's Benefit Year

Warwickshire cricketer Michael Powell's benefit year is into its final dozen events.
And there is plenty to interest local cricketers who would like to support the former Lawrence Sheriff School student and Bears' captain.
His calendar looks like this:
Sunday, August 24: Barmy Army XI v Warwickshrie XI at Harborne CC. All welcome £3 donation for a programme at gate.
Wednesday, September 10: Join Michael and special guests at Sans Chinese Restaurant, Henley in Arden. Donation of £25 per ticket.
Friday, September 12: Letchworth 6-a-side Cricket Day. All welcome.
Sunday, September 14: Cricket event at West Haddon CC. All welcome.
Monday, September 15: VIP Curry Night at Shimla Pinks, Broad Street, Birmingham. £35 donation per person.
Tuesday, September 23: Par 3 golf day at Nailcote Hall. Donation of £180 per team.
Tuesday, October 14: Barnt Green Curry Night at Deedah Restaurant in association with Cure Leukaemia. £25 donation per ticket, available from Cure Leukaemia office on (0121) 627 5858.
Tuesday, October 21: Sporting dinner at the West End, Stratford upon Avon. Donation of £27.50 per ticket.
Tueday, November 11: Curry night at Berkswell CC. £25 donation per person.
Wednesday, November 12: Lunchtime with Mark Ramprakash at Opus Restaurant, Birmingham. Donations of £45 per ticket.
Thursday, December 4: Grand Finale Dinner and Christmas Recital at WCCC. £40 donation per person.
Michael's benefit year is supporting Cure Leukaemia.
