Warwickshire Division 1
Highway v Stockton
Stockton's poor form continued at Highway as they went down by eight wickets, despite a season's best knock from Owen Edwards.
Stockton were inserted on a green surface and immediately struggled against openers Steve Vaughan and Zenroy Lee-Bourne.
A flurry of early wickets saw the visitors slump to 66 for five, with only Krish Dhokia (30) making any real impact.
In tough batting conditions Edwards launched a counter attack on the Highway attack with some typically lusty blows.
He added 42 with Billy Green but two more quick wickets saw Stockton at 109-7.
Adam Coop then lent fine support to Edwards who was finding the boundary regularly as they put on 59.
Edwards was finally dismissed for 89 from 57 balls, including seven sixes, and when Coop (22) fell soon after the innings petered out quickly.
Lee Bourne (4-21) and Vaughan (3-56) both bowled superbly for the Coventry outfit, as Stockton were all out for 179.
Highway began their reply cautiously against some tight bowling but progressed to 47 before the first breakthrough came.
Coop removed Fletcher (23) and Dean Marsh (26) in quick succession to leave the hosts 60-2 after 20 overs.
The game was very much in the balance at this stage, but a couple of dropped chances cost Stockton dear.
Dave Thornton guided his side home with a fine unbeaten 69, while Jamie Marsh lent valuable support with 47 not out.
Highway reached the winning line in the 50th over, although the eight wicket winning margin does not do justice to a tight encounter for the majority of the match.

Division 2 reserves
Stockton v Rugby
Stockton's second string were back to winning ways in a close encounter with local counterparts Rugby.
Batting first Rugby were bowled out for 166, with Shushrut Nasnodkar (6-64) taking the bowling honours with another great spell.
He had valuable support from Sam Edwards (2-7), while Jamie Green and Alex Harvey took a wicket each.
Young Rugby opener Raj Chohan impressed with 28, while Ed Benfield struck an aggressive 60.
Stockton's reply started steadily with Nasnodkar (20) and Mark Rowland (23) contributing well, but wickets began to fall as they collapsed to 117-8.
Fortunately Edwards, in his first match of the season, was still tat the crease and was joined by Green who continued to show his improvement with the bat.
They combined to add an unbeaten 52 and see their side home with two wickets to spare in a great partnership.
Green (9*) lent vital support to Edwards who made 53 not out in a hard fought victory.

Sunday Friendly
Great Tew v Stockton
Stockton came out on top in a close encounter at Great Tew's picturesque ground in Oxfordshire.
The visitors were put into bat and lost a wicket without a run on the board but recovered well with Krish Dhokia the mainstay of the innings.
Dhokia top scored with 58 and had good support from Greg Campbell (20) and Sam Edwards (26).
Some late hitting from Luke Sharples (31) and Owen Edwards (48 from 21 balls) then propelled Stockton to 205 before being bowled out in the 38th over.
Darby (3-31) was the pick of the bowling, but he fell early in his side's reply to Jamie Green.
Great Tew opener Taylor then took the attack to Stockton after surviving two early chances and took his side to the half way point in a great position.
It was 12-year-old leg spinner Nathan Hooker who turned the game back in Stockton's favour with three quick wickets.
After taking some early tap he showed a great temperament to take 3-50 in his eight overs, including two sharp stumpings by Campbell.
It included the key wicket of Taylor (74), before fellow spinner Owen Edwards picked up another wicket.
Some impressive hitting from Licence kept Great Tew in the hunt however, but good death bowling from Sharples and Dhokia restricted them to 192-6.
