Round-up of the week's results
Rugby RCC
Course: K10/25B
Princethorpe-A45
(new course this season)

Our lowest entry for almost two years -saw 17 brave riders compete in extremly wet conditions where they should have worn a wetsuit instead of cycling gear wit
h water lying all over the roads throughout the event. James Heaton completed the 25 miles in an exceptional 55-27 and there were PBs for Russell Morris and Amrit Singh. Craig Sterrett and Emily Ducker decided one lap of the A45 course enough.
Unlucky Tony Johnson's front tyre punctured on the run down to the finish. Dave Overton and Colin Stiles rode tandem and battled magnificently in the conditions to record 57-01. James Heaton was not only was the fastest but he also won the handicap.
1 James Heaton 55-27; 2 Marina Bloom 1-03.22; 3 Russell Morris 1-07.10; 4 Ian Usher 1-08.44; 5 Mike Bloom 1-08.56; 6 Rob Robson 1-09.32; 7 Tony Johnson 1-11.56; 8 Richard Kenworthy 1-12.57; 9 Steve Bond 1-16.42; 10 Kenny Robinson 1-16.55; 11 Ken Rushall 1-20.16; 12 Wendy Morris 1-22.10; 13 Amrit Singh 1-25.56.
Craig Sterrett DNF; Emily Ducker DNF; Dave Overton & Colin Stiles (tandem) 57-01.
Handicap winner was: 1 James Heaton with a net time of 50-27.
On Sunday Marina & Mike Bloom rode the Midland & Herts CA 100 mile time trial on the F1 course. Marina did 4hrs 27min 27secs missing her own record by 2secs. Mike did 4hrs 58mins 57secs both rode on fixed gear bikes. They had no helpers so had to stop at 60 miles to pick up food and drink left earlier at the side of the road.

Rugby Velo
At the fourth 25 mile time trial round Phil Clark took the honours, with a time of 1-0-55, on another breezy evening, the weather conditions continuing to hamper the number of riders. Second place went to Lee Edmonds clocking in at 1-2-41. Third place went to Gary Hipwell finishing in at 1-4-49.
Other times (each a personal best): Jonathon Todd 1-5-41; Dave Nown 1-8-10; Steven Franklin 1-8-10; Mike Ingram 1-21-18.
On the following Saturday junior rider Jeremy Hicks rode the Coventry CC open ten mile event, clocking in a new personal best of 23-57 finishing in 28th place. Richard Bray of Velo also rode the event to finish in the mid-22 minute area and in the top ten placings.
Garry Townsend of MiRacing rode a season's best to a time of 25-26.
