Octavian Droobers the Coventry and Warwickshire Club

Ben Windsor wins Burton Dassett Orienteering Event
Ben Windsor, sixth former at Lawrence Sheriff school, finished in the fastest time 39mins 45secs on the 6.4k 295metre climb Blue course at last Sunday's district orienteering event, at Burton Dassett. The contours at the country park made navigation
challenging and attracted approximately 150 entrants from across the midlands.

Also on the Blue course Roger Thetford M45 (Thames Valley)came second in 44min 53sec and Barry Elkington M50 (Octavian Droobers) came third in 46mins 23secs.

Winner of the green course, 4.9k 200 metre climb, was junior Harrison McCartney M10 (Octavian Droobers) in a fast 42 mins 36 secs. Octavian Droober juniors came first, second and third on the light green course 3.3k 145 metre climb. 1st Julie Emmerson W12 35:02 2nd Hamish Rogers M12 35:23 and 3rd Rachel Emmerson W12 39:59.

The next summer evening event will be held at Swift Valley Country Park, Rugby, (north of Rugby and will be signposted from the second roundabout on A426 south of the M6

junction 1) on Wednesday 30th July from 6.00pm – 7.30pm and beginners and more experienced orienteers of all ages from 5 – 85 will be very welcome. For details tel: 02476 505050 or see website www.octavian-droobers.org.
