Both the Mad Batters and the 3 B's had an extra game this week catching up on outstanding fixtures.
Unfortunately for the 3 B's they were the losers on both occasions despite some excellent hitting and good out fielding. There first tussle against the Rabble was extremely close with a margin of only 2.5 rounders between them at the end of the two i
nnings. Beci Clish being awarded the player of the match for the Rabble, with an outstanding contribution of 6.5 rounders and similarly Emily Tye scored half of her teams total with 4.5 rounders also being awarded player of the match for the 3 B's.
The 3 B's second game was also closely contested against the Mad Batters and with only 7 players they did extremely well to stay in contention. They finally lost out by 14.5 to 10. Emily Tye again scoring well and being player of the match for the 3 B's while Vicki Stott (Mad Batters) was rewarded for taking 3 extremely good catches and her consistent bowling.
Vicki Stott with her donkey drop bowls also made it difficult for The Bull – Clifton and they could only manage a total of 3 While all players from the Mad Batters contributed to their total giving them victory. Sue Davies (Mad Batters) and Sarah Warne (The Bull – Clifton) were players of the match
Under Pressure despite scoring well with Karen Homer scoring 6.5, and a team total of 14.5 allowed B & B too much opportunity to score as well and with Gemma Midwood on 4.5 and Mandy McCabe on 5.5, the B & B team romped away with victory. Players of the match were Mandy McCabe (B & B) and Sophie Burden (Under Pressure)
Railway Sleepers and Stiff Joints had a very closely contested first innings with very few rounders scored and Railway Sleepers then set a target of 9 rounders to win. With Stiff Joints only scoring 2.5 in the first innings it was set for a close finish. However the team started to find their form and batting improved putting more pressure on the opposition. Stiff Joints eventually achieved 14.5 rounders. Players of the match were Zoe Francis (Railway Sleepers) and Jackie Berrill (Stiff Joints)
