In their first home game since mid-October, Lions took on Hinckley 2nds and from the kick off it was Hinckley putting pressure on the Lions, who conceded a penalty within 3 minutes.
It took Lions until the 24th minute before they levelled with a pe
nalty from Justin Parker but Hinckley's unconverted try gave them a 3-8 half-time lead.
In the second half, Lions were more constructive and showing more commitment. This produced John Carruthers' break on 52 minutes for Jack Young to score Lions' first try, Parker converting for the lead.
Hinckley's second penalty was soon cancelled out by Parker.
Lions were playing some fine rugby now and Parker caught his own kick to run in Lions' second try, which he also converted. Hinckley managed a push-over converted try but with a minute to go Sam Collins dived over from Phil Reed's through kick and again Parker converted.
Man of the match was Ciaran Price with a special mention for colt Grant Gordon who stepped in at the last minute and played well.
