SIX local charities are very grateful to members of the Dunchurch and District Skittles League, who have raised £3,500 pounds this year.
The magnificent sum was divided between six worthy causes and the cheques were presented on Thursday evening.
The recipients were: St Matthew's Bloxam School, S.S.A.F.A - Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association Forces Help, Walsgrave Hospital Kidney Patients Association, Coventry & Warwickshire Dyspraxia Society, Critical Care Unit at the Hospital of St. Cross and Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
All the charities thanked everyone for their efforts and donations. Over the last seven years the league's fundraising, led by fixture secretary Kevin Pearcey, has collected over £17,500 and helped 16 charities.
League chairman Brian Evans chairman also thanked everyone for their support. He said: "I never cease to be amazed when Kevin tells me how much has been raised every year," he said. "The skittles players are very generous, giving their time and money so willingly and we know how much the charities appreciate it.
"We always support the air ambulance and then members write in and nominate other local charities they would like us to consider."
