LONG BUCKBY TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Despite heavy showers during the week the Tournament Committee's endeavours to prepare the Courts for the 101st Long Buckby Lawn Tennis Tournament, were well rewarded with a particularly enjoyable festival of tennis for the Mixed Doubles and Juniors on Sunday with the finals being played at sunset. The Men's and Ladies Doubles on Saturday endured light showers and a cool breeze to hamper progress but this did not prevent excellent tennis being played and enjoyed for the eliminating rounds and the finals in the late afternoon. Another great sporting occasion enjoyed by 236 players, a slightly reduced entry following the Centenary Year in 2007. The winners were as follows:

Ladies Doubles Helena Green and Amie Anderson (Dallington) Northampton
Mens Doubles Barry Wilson and David Garrett (County Northampton)
Veterans Doubles Luca Gagrica and Ian Weatherall (Corby)
Mixed Doubles Dominic Sefton and Amie Anderson (Abingdon) Northampton
Junior Doubles James Hodges and Harry Kellner (County) Northampton
Under 11s Singles Sam Barnes
