Hollingsworth breaks Bears record with double ton

England Blind cricket international Luke Sugg is predicting a bright future for Justin Hollingsworth after the Leamington teenager’s superb double century helped Warwickshire Bears to an emphatic victory over Nottinghamshire Knights.

Hollingsworth struck an unbeaten 212 (27 x 4, 5 x 6) as Warwickshire posted 408 for three from their 30 overs, eclipsing Bears’ previous highest individual score of 178, scored by Sugg himself.

“Playing alongside and being out in the middle when a batsman is hitting it as sweetly as Justin is just incredible,” said Sugg, who is aiming to lead Warwickshire to a fourth successive BBS Heindrich Swanepoel Primary Club Cup.

“It was a great pleasure to be out in the middle to see such a young player play so maturely and express himself after a long run without a century score.

“Being the previous record-holder, I can honestly say there is no player who more deserves to hold that record now.

“At 17 years of age, this guy has broken records left, right and centre - both domestically and internationally.

“He has a bright future, and I feel today was just the beginning of something special in this young man’s career.”
